BRIEF INFORMATION ABOUT COLLEGE

Govt Degree College Thindim Kreeri is emerging as one of the premier institutions of Higher Education in Baramulla District of North Kashmir. Established in 2019 the college registered its first batch of students in 2020. The college Owns about 49 Kanals of land at Thindim Kreeri where construction of its main campus is in progress. Presently college functions from makeshift campus (Hostel Premises of GHS Kreeri) which comprises of huge building fully equipped with all the basic facilities. Affiliated with UGC under 2F and University of Kashmir, College offers Bachelor of Arts Program with General English, Education, Pol. Science, Sociology, History, Urdu, Environmental Science and Physical Education as core and optional subjects in accordance with NEP 2020.

SPECIAL FEATURES OF THE AREA

Kreeri is the main town and business centre of the Kruhin sub region of North Kashmir. It has rich cultural heritage being under the influence of sufi Saint, scholar HZ Mir Syed Murad Bukhari who made it His abode about 600 years ago. Nestled in the northernmost region of India, this enchanting destination is a gem for travellers seeking both adventure and tranquillity.  A landscape where snow-capped mountains stand tall against a clear blue sky, their peaks glistening in the sunlight, this region is dotted with numerous springs, waterfalls, and lush green valleys that attract countless people year-round. These natural wonders, combined with the rich cultural heritage and warm hospitality of the locals enhance the glory of the area. Students of this place used to travel more than 20 kms to study in GDC Baramulla, GDC Sopore & GDC Pattan. However, due to the visionary and keen efforts of Higher Education Department, UT of Jammu & Kashmir a Govt. Degree College was sanctioned for this place in 2019.
