The Department of Environmental Science in Collaboration with NSS & Eco Club of this college celebrated National Energy Conservation Day under the patronage of Principal, Prof. Kounsar Jan on 14^th December, 2022.  At the outset, the speakers Dr. Syed Mustafa and Dr. Khursheed Ahmad Wani discussed about the problems currently being faced by the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. Dr. Wani illustrated various scenarios of replacing conversional energy sources with non-conventional sources such as Solar, to create awareness among the students. He also enlightened the students to utilize energy optimally and efficiently. Dr. Syed Mustafa said that Energy conservation promotes economic and environmental sustainability. Later on the students along with all the faculty members reached to the shopkeepers and households of Kreeri wherein they suggested them about the various means of energy conservation in their shops and homes. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Khursheed Ahmad Wani & Dr. Syed Mustafa.
