In continuation with series of events conducted under the theme “Our Constitution” Department of Political Science, GDC Thindim Kreer organized a panel discussion on “Our Constitution” today on 24th of February 2025. The event aimed to promote awareness and understanding of the Indian Constitution, its drafting process, and its significance in shaping the nation's democratic framework. To honor the eminent personalities who played a crucial role in drafting the Indian Constitution, the participants were divided into three groups, each named after a distinguished member of the Drafting Committee: 1. Alladi Krishnaswami Ayyar Group 2. N. Gopalaswami Ayyangar Group 3. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Each group actively engaged in discussions on various aspects of the Constitution, including its historical background, fundamental rights and duties, directive principles, and the challenges in its implementation. Alladi Krishnaswami Ayyar Group focused on the legal and judicial aspects of the Constitution, highlighting its robustness and adaptability over time. N. Gopalaswami Ayyangar Group discussed the administrative framework and the role of the Constitution in shaping India's governance structure. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Group emphasized the social justice elements embedded in the Constitution, particularly focusing on equality, reservation policies, and the role of the Constitution in uplifting marginalized communities. The discussion was highly insightful, with students and faculty members actively participating and exchanging perspectives.
