In Continuation with the series of activities scheduled under the banner of Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations, the NSS Unit and Department of Political Science of Government Degree College Thindim Kreeri organised Symposia on Truth and Non-Violence on 7^th October 2024. The symposium commenced with welcome address by Dr. Zahid Hussain who highlighted the significance of truth and non-violence in contemporary society. The speaker presented a critical analysis of the current global scenario, stressing the urgent need for embracing truth and non-violence to combat misinformation and societal unrest. His speech resonated deeply with the audience, leaving a lasting impact. Prof. Syed Mustafa and Prof. Yaqoob, also shared their insights on the relevance of these principles in today's world. Prof. Syed Mustafa emphasized on the philosophical underpinnings of truth and non-violence, drawing parallels with the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi. He articulated how adhering to these principles can lead to a harmonious and just society. Students from various semesters also took the stage to express their perspectives. They shared personal anecdotes and reflections, showcasing a deep understanding of the topic and a commitment to these ideals. The symposium concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Prof. Mohd Yaqoob acknowledging the contributions of the speakers and participants.
