ROAD DISASTER PREVENTION PROGRAM*

On January 16th, 2024, a comprehensive day-long program aimed at preventing road accidents was held in the vicinity of the college. The event was organized by the NSS Wing of the college at key junctions of Kreeri Wagoora and Tapper Road. NSS volunteers took the initiative to engage with drivers of private cars, commercial cabs, vehicles, and two-wheelers, counselling them on the importance of adhering to traffic regulations to ensure their own safety as well as the safety of pedestrians and fellow commuters. Volunteers emphasized crucial safety measures, urging drivers to wear seat belts and avoid rash or negligent driving behaviours. Riders of two-wheelers received strict advice to wear crash helmets and set a positive example for others to follow. The program aimed to instil a culture of road safety and raise awareness about the critical role every individual plays in preventing accidents on the road. By educating and advising the community, the NSS Wing sought to create a safer environment for all road users and minimize the risk of road accidents through responsible driving practices.
