The Department of Environmental Science in collaboration with Eco Club of this college celebrated International Mountain Day under the aegis of “My Town My Pride” on 12^th December, 2022.  Addressing the students, Dr Khursheed Ahmad Wani spoke about the importance of the day wherein he said women play an important role in protection of environment around mountains that lead to social and economic development. They are often the primary managers of mountain resources, guardians of biodiversity, keepers of traditional knowledge, custodians of local culture, and experts in traditional medicine. A documentary was also shown to the students pertaining to the theme “Women Move Mountains” in the seminar hall.  A sizeable number of students of all semesters watched the documentary. At the end of the movie, most of the students have presented their views on the documentry. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Khursheed Ahmad Wani (Eco Club Coordinator) under the guidance of Worthy Principal Prof. Kounsar Jan.
