Under the aegis of Mera Pehla Vote Desh Ke Liye campaign the Department of Political Science & SVEEP Unit of Government Degree College Thindim Kreeri conducted awareness Programme on Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) to its first time voters on 8^th May, 2024. The programme was a part of series of events organized by the college under SVEEP initiative of the Election Commission of India. The programme started with an enlightening lecture delivered by Dr. Rouf Ahmad Bhat (Political Science) wherein he deliberated on Dos and Don’ts at the respective polling booths. The Programme was organized to provide students with a first-hand experience of the voting process and familiarity with the machines. The awareness Programme imparted knowledge about the basic features of EVMs and VVPATs, elucidating the step-by-step procedure of casting votes, and educating voters on how to verify their choices through the VVPAT slip. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Khursheed Ahmad Wani under the supervision of Worthy Principal Prof. Kowsar Jan Peerzada.
