Under the banner of SVEEP, the NSS Unit of Govt Degree College Thindim Kreeri in collaboration with the Department of Political Science, organized a comprehensive Public Outreach cum Interaction Programme aimed at raising voter awareness on the 24th of September  2024. The event was inaugurated by the esteemed Principal, Professor Kowser Jan, who flagged off the programme with an inspiring address. Volunteers crafted posters and placards with impactful slogans emphasizing the significance of voting for the nation’s future, which were strategically placed to attract maximum attention and engagement from the public. Participants visited a nearby school where they interacted with students, discussing the importance of voting and civic participation. This interaction aimed to instill a sense of responsibility and awareness among the younger generation. The programme extended to the local market, where participants interacted with residents, shopkeepers, women voters, and elderly citizens. These interactions were designed to address any queries and encourage informed voting practices. The entire faculty of College actively participated in the programme, providing guidance and support to the volunteers. Their presence underscored the college’s commitment to fostering civic responsibility and community engagement. The initiative not only highlighted the importance of voting but also strengthened the bond between the college and the local community. The NSS Unit and the Department of Political Science are committed to continuing such efforts to promote civic awareness and participation.
